Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura Interview In an interview with Dengeki magazine, Square-Enix director and producer Yoshinori Kitase and director/character designer Tetsuya Nomura discussed future final fantasy projects including a remake of fan favourite Final Fantasy VII. In the interview, Nomura said that after Kingdom Hearts 2 is finished he would not be working on a Final Fantasy VII remake however he did say that he is spending a lot of time thinking about how to conclude the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Although Nomura did say that he would not be working on a Final Fantasy VII remake after KH2, it's possible that a remake or FF7-2 which has been previously discussed could happen after Nomura's next project is complete but with new games on the PS3 taking longer to develop, a remake or sequel could be a long time off or done for the PSP. Speaking of the PSP, both talked about Crisis Core. the scenario is complete but because of staff working on other projects, development has started but full development hasn't. Although no in game Crisis Core materal exists, the trailer of Zack from Last Order was to show the game will focus on Zack's story which was confirmed by Nomura. As progress of the game went on, the gameplay system went from less complex as to something you'd expect in a normal console game. On other remake news, Kitase said that he felt that an action game needed to be done and this has resulted in Dirge of Cerberus but he believed that a remake was possible if Square had did two Compilation games instead of three (four if you want to include Advent Children). Development of PS3 based material takes longer which means a bigger delay with future games but the Final Fantasy VII Technical Demo for PS3 took near 3 months so a full game will take a considerable amount of time. Kitase confirmed his team, which was responsible for Final Fantasy VII, VIII and X as well Advent Children and other aspects of the Compilation project had begun work on a new Next Gen title. This title was the previously annoucned Final Fantasy game on the PS3 but since Nomura said he would not be working on a remake and because Square want him to do take charge of the project, this game is possibly Final Fantasy 13.
