New Famitsu reveals new Final Fantasy 13 info!
In this week's issue of Japan's favourite gaming magazine, Famitsu Weekly, new information was revealed regarding the three Final Fantasy 13 titles.
Apparently the main storyline for all three of the (currently announced) Final Fantasy 13 titles will share the common theme of 'crystals that lead the world towards the future', and that these crystals will be seen as everyday objects that have a purpose to fulfill (I suppose this is in contrast to crystals seen in many previous Final Fantasy titles).
In addition to the main 'crystal' theme, the only other thing the Fabula Nova Crystallis series will share is the appearance of Chocobos and Moogles - apparently they've returned.
Some mention is made regarding the battle system, and apparently Final Fantasy 13's battle system WILL include the traditional ATB system - but not all the time. It will also feature some type of online gameplay, but no more details were revealed regarding this - apparently it's 'not the game's main feature though'. Nomura seemed quite reluctant to speak on the battle system of Versus though - from what can be gathered it will probably be an action title in the vein of Kingdom Hearts though.
Nomura was, on the other hand, a little more specific with story details - apparently the main character of Versus is a member of a royal family who has protected the crystals in the world for generations. He will have to protect these crystals from monsters from another world who wear 'Middle-Ages inspired' armour.
Not much information was divulged on Agito except that it will take place mostly inside a magic-school of some sort and it stars 12 of the students from the school who weild different weapons.
According to Toriyama, Kitase and Nomura though, we'll have to 'wait a bit' before the titles come out.
