Sony discuss PS1 game downloads on PSP and PS3 At Sony's recent Game Day PS3 Conference, they discussed their plans for PS1 game downloads. Basically, both the PSP and the PS3 will, eventually, be able to download any one of a range of PS1 titles onto their PSP or PS3. This range will most likely include many of your favourite PS1 Final Fantasy titles - 7, 8 and 9 will be the major players here, with Tactics and the other ports hopefully being present. Games will be dowloadable onto the PSP first, with the ability to play PS1 titles via emulation expected to be released with Firmware 3.0 however games such as Syphon Filter and Twisted Metal will be made available when the PS3 is released. No cost for games has been announced, but hopefully it will cost less to download than buy, and it seems that if you buy a game, you can download what you purchase onto 5 different PS3's, although nothing was said about how many PSPs. PS2 downloads, probably only for the PS3 (I doubt a PSP and an 8Gb card would work) will also be made available at some point which means that some day perhaps we could end up getting an English version of Last Mission as an insentive to download.
