New Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wing details New details have been revealed up Motomu Toriyama's upcoming DS-exclusive sequel to this year's masterful Final Fantasy 12, Revenant Wings. Although the real brains behind Final Fantasy 12 was Yasumi Matsuno, it seems that Final Fantasy 10-2 director Motomu Toriyama has not only taken the directing role, but is now also tackling the job of Scenario. The game has now been stated to take place after the events of Final Fantasy 12, which does make it a sequel, however the development team have stated that they do not want to call the game "Final Fantasy 12-2". Apparently, Yoshitaka Amano hasn't designed the new Revenant Wings logo, rather the design fell upon Isamu Kamikoryou, the game's art director (Amano not designing the logo? Probably a first!). Revenant Wings will also be taking a more traditional Final Fantasy route with the game, as the the relationship between Vaan and Penelo will be further explored and like Final Fantasy 10-2, an airship will be available from the start of the game. Unlike Final Fantasy 12, Revenant Wings will have Vaan as the main protagonist, unlike the original, in which he shared the role with Ashe. The game will also aim to portrait a different side to Penelo, emphasising more on her feminine side rather than her more sporty side. Source: RPGFan.
