Sakaguchi's new 360 title results Final Fantasy's father, Hironobu Sakaguchi, has released his newest solo title, Blue Dragon, to critical acclaim in Japan. Sales information released puts the game's sale count at over 70,000 sold in it's first week, which includes both the Bundle Pack and the game on it's own. Although 70,000 may be low compared to the one million a Final Fantasy title can sell from pre-orders alone, or the two million in it's first week, it is an impressive amount since the Japanese aren't the biggest Xbox fans. Blue Dragon also outsold all other Xbox titles this week, and in the top 5 Xbox 360 games sold in Japan it came first, with the Final Fantasy 11 All-in-One Pack (the game, plus all 3 expansions at a budget cost) coming in third. With Final Fantasy 12 being the second highest PS2 seller this week in the US, plus Final Fantasy 6 and Final Fantasy 5 for the GBA coming in first and second respectively in the Japanese GBA sales (FF5 was 5th in US GBA sales), Square-Enix are in the money right now. UPDATE 14/12/06: Turns out that in the overall top 10 of Japanese software sales, Blue Dragon was 4th during the week it was released with a total sales of 80,348.
