New Ring of Fates and Tactics A2 news New details have arisen regarding Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Rings of Fates and Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Forgotten Grimoire. Only a small tidbit of news regarding The Forgotten Grimoire, Square have said the game is a "spiritual successor" to Tactics Advance on the GBA, meaning the game isn't a direct sequel, but will retain the same look and feel, and possibly similar story aspects to the original (in comparison Perfect Dark on N64 was a spiritual successor to GoldenEye). In other news, Square have said that Ring of Fates takes place in a world which contains two Crystals - one Holy and one Dark. The main characters of the single player mode are twins named Cherinka and July (seen in the artwork scans previously reported). The game's multiplayer mode involves creating custom characters and completing quests which can involve up to 4 players. The action-based features of the original Crystal Chronicles will be kept and used in both single and multiplayer mode. Mitsuru Kamiyama, the main programmer of the GameCube original, will be directing the game and Toshiyuki Itahana will be returning as the character designer.
