Balthier stars in The Lion War!
Just as Cloud starred in the original Final Fantasy Tactics on the PSX, Balthier will be appearing as a guest in The Lion War.

Seeing as the game is better classified a re-release (rather than a remake), it is still unsure whether Balthier (of Final Fantasy 12 fame) has actually replaced Cloud, or is simply starring alongside him.

Cloud's appearance in the original was quite the enigma - the character really had little-to-nothing to do with the story, and was simply a secret character. These new scans reveal that Balthier will actually be a part of the storyline in The Lion War - this is most likely a gimmick from Square-Enix to provoke the illusion of all stories in the 'Ivalice Alliance' to be connected.

Also note on the second page a new class - the Dark Knight. Details on the class are still quite scarce. More news as we have it.

UPDATE: It has also been confirmed that the Onion Knights from Final Fantasy 3 will be making an appearance. More as we have it.
