White Engine open platform
Sakaguchi speaks: White Engine was really open-platform, Final Fantasy can go Xbox at any time.

In a recent interview with the original Mr. Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi conducted by GameSpot, talk wandered to where Square can go with Final Fantasy.

Sakaguchi-san then suddenly let slip that the White Engine (the engine behind FF13 and Versus 13) is actually open-platform - in other words, a Xbox 360 port of any of these games would be dead easy.

Although this isn't relevant right now, expect to see Microsoft and Square announcing a new online FF or Fabula Nova Crystallis title for the 360 by the year's end, probably at E3. Simply math, really.
