Final Fantasy XIII's 'Optima System' Final Fantasy 13's elaborate battle system has been explained further in recent weeks, revealed as the 'Optima System'. The Optima System seems to be a continuation of Final Fantasy 12's battle system, in that it allows you to assign specific AI-controlled roles to the three active party members. Images below show Lightning as a 'Defender', Snow as an 'Attacker', and Vanilla as a 'Blaster'; as to how customisable these combinations will be, we'll have to wait and see. Complex and/or successful use of the system can result in bonuses, such as increased attack power. Also recently unveiled to the public was the finer details of Sazh's son, Dajh Katzroy. The MagicBox had this to say about his arc; During the story, Dajh will be separated from Sazh and will be turned into a crystal by Jihl Nabaat, which motivated Sazh to join force with Lightning to battle against the Sanctum.
