Final Fantasy IV: The After in English
Square have made a few DLC-related announcements at this year's GDC, including an English release for The After!

The game, originally a mobile episodic title released in Japan, will be making its way to Nintendo's WiiWare platform sometime soon. As you can see, a full English translation has ocurred, and although it looks like something straight out of RPG Maker, the game is looking crisp and vibrant.

Aditionally, the game has been retitled Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.

Check back in with us here for more news from the Game Developer's Conference in the coming days!

Final Fantasy IV: The After possibly translated?
Square's Takashi Tokita says that Final Fantasy 4: The After may actually be localized for a Western release!

Questioned about the possibility of more Final Fantasy 4 remakes, Tokita (producer/director of the DS remake) replied:

We just remade it, so it's a bit of a stretch... Currently the sequel, Final Fantasy 4: The After, is available for mobile phones in Japan. We'll do our best to make this game available for our overseas audiences as well!

As to how this would work on Western mobiles is unknown, but its graphics aren't too advanced, so here's hoping it's possible!

We'll keep you updated.

Final Fantasy IV in stores now across Europe
Sorry we couldn't report this yesterday when it happened - we had maintenance to deal with. The game was one step ahead of us!

That's right folks, as of September 5, Final Fantasy 4 for the Nintendo DS is now available in stores across Europe. The wait between North American and European releases is becoming increasingly short, and we hope that Square continues this trend!

You can see more about the game here!

Coincidentally, the game became available across Australia yesterday as well. Enjoy!

Now we'll just have to wait and see if a Final Fantasy 5 remake is in the cards...

Square talks up their E3 08 lineup
E3 2008? It's here folks, and less than one week away - Square's showing off big, new stuff right? Right!? Wrong...

Sadly, like with E3 2007, Square have let fans down again at the last minute - fans may remember last year, Yoshinori Kitase told us that we'd see a Final Fantasy 13 demo at E3. Less than 24 hours before the events began, Square revealed that FF13 would not be in show.

Well, its basically the same this year. The only Final Fantasy game that will be on the showroom floor will be Final Fantasy 4 for Nintendo's DS. That's it. The game has been available in Japan since December 20.

Additionally, look foward to Chrono Trigger being on the show floor, with a playable demo there as well.

We'll give you the full reports next week, as well as any new announcements or (unlikely) surprised Square may have up their sleeves.
