This is slowly beginning to change, as Amazon Japan has updated their listing for the item with the inclusion of what appears to be official cover art.
Certainly nothing extremely original, but its definitely a step up from the generic 'now printing' label that was formerly in its place.
Stick with us here at FF Insider as we continue to search for more info on the upcoming album. We should have a confirmed tracklist sometime in August.
The album will be entitled Reunion Tracks/Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete and is to be released in Japan on the 16th of September, 2009. It will retail for 2,500 yen.
Clicking this link here will take you to an article on Intermezzo where the reporter graphically describes the epic difference between playing Advent Children Complete and the FF13 Trial on a standard television versus an HD-ready plasma set.
These differences are so large in fact that the reporter decided to compare the original Advent Children DVD to the Complete Blu-ray on the same standard television, and to his surprise... found that the DVD was actually looking better!
Just goes to show guys - if you've only got a standard TV available to you, think twice before picking up the Advent Children Complete Blu-ray, especially if you've already got the original DVD.
In other, brighter news, reports have surfaced that AC Complete has currently sold 270, 000 copies since release in Japan, making it one of the country's fastest selling Blu-ray releases since the format's inception in 2007.
As you can see, there's the 160GB 'Cloud Black' PS3, which has Cloud's Advent Children-related emblem on it. Also included in the Advent Children Complete Blu-ray in what appears to be a box set slipcase, coupling with the Final Fantasy 13 Trial Ver. Besides that, just the regular cables, the DualShock 3 and manuals.
The set was released on April 16, but if you're thinking of importing there's still a few left at various international retailers.
For those not in the know, the song is the official ending theme for Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete. Kyosuke Himuro's 1989 classic "Calling" was used as the theme for the original version (Tetsuya Nomura was reportedly a big fan), and so with the 'Complete' version they decided that an actual, bona fide new official FF theme was needed. Thus, Himuro and Way teamed up earlier this year in LA to record the track (written by Way), and then film the PV.
The song will be released digitally on April 29 through iTunes. Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete will be releasing in America on June 2.
Square have confirmed that June 2, 2009 will see a localized release for Advent Children Complete. They also indicated that a 'Final Fantasy 13 preview' would be included, although at this point it is unknown whether this is video footage or an English version of the demo.
We'll let you know when we have more information.
As for Safe and Sound, a considerable chunk of the song has now been revealed in the form of a PV preview - check it out below!
The first two videos here are new commercials for the Blu-ray/demo package airing on Japanese TV.
Notice the music in the second commercial? That's the film's theme song, Safe and Sound, by Himuro Kyosuke featuring Gerard Way. Fans may remember the original version featured Kyosuke's classic Calling as its ending theme - this time Nomura has requested that the J-Rock star record an original theme song for this updated version. The track is written by Gerard Way, who features on some instrumentals and backing vocals.
The following is a 1:50 preview clip of this song.
Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete comes out on Blu-ray in Japan on April 16th. There will be two different versions available - one that includes a demo for Final Fantasy 13, and one without.
The above package is the ultimate version of Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children - not only does it include the new Blu-ray (Advent Children Complete), and the upcoming Final Fantasy 13 Trial Version, it is coupled with a 160GB PlayStation 3, sporting an exclusive design to boot.
The set, officially entitled Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete - "Cloud Black" HDD160GB + Final Fantasy 13 Trial Version Set will be releasing on the same day as the other ACC versions; April 16, 2009 in Japan.
The above trailer was shown at Jump Festa 2009 behind closed doors, but has at last been released to the public. If this footage is any indicator, it would seem the additional 25-minutes of footage has been used primarily on action scenes, however the additional footage at the beginning with the Turks definitely looks promising.
Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete will be releasing on Blu-ray in Japan on the 16th of April, and First Press pre-orders will come bundled with the Final Fantasy 13 demo.
Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete will be releasing exclusively on Blu-ray in the March of this year in Japan. Included in all First Press copies will be the 2-hour Final Fantasy 13 demo. We'll let you know when a Western release date is announced.
