Yes, a new Final Fantasy 11 expansion pack is in the air, which you may recall we reported on back around E3 - its called 'Wings of the Goddess', and we can now show you what the game's newest class looks like!
What we can tell you about this class is that they are called the Scholars, and they have been trained to be able to dual-wield various 'schools' of magic, by which it is probably meant that you can use two different types of magic simultaneously. Make of this as you will fans - will this balance the game more, or will it send things spiralling?
Whether this is a good move or a bad move, the new expansion (including this new class, new areas etc.) will be released for the PC, PS2 and X360 in America on November 20 and in Japan and PAL territories on November 22! Only ten days!
On another note, don't forget the Final Fantasy 11 Fan Festival, which will be taking place from November 15 to November 17 at the Hilton Hotel in Anaheim, California! Enjoy!
Looks good, doesn't it? The expansion pack will be released for all three (PC, PS2 and X360) versions of Final Fantasy 11, but as for a release date, nothing is verified at the moment.
Stay tuned for more Final Fantasy-related E3 updates!
Final Fantasy XI update coming very soon PlayOnline has announced details of a new update for the PS2, PC and Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy 11, starting December 18th.
The update itself is fairly small for both systems, and shouldn't take long to download unless you're stuck with dialup.
Several different patches will be released, for those with the expansions and for those without. PlayOnline were also very nice to give download time estimations and file sizes for all different downloads, the sizes go from 14.7mb minimum to a 33.8mb maximum.

With the recent release of Firmware 1.31 for the PlayStation 3, the bug which stopped the PlayStation 2 version of Final Fantasy 11 detecting the PlayStation 3 Hard Drive has been patched.
This task force is being created due to the overuse of Real Money Trade and third party tools which allow users to cheat while playing the game.
Over 3000 accounts have been banned already because of their cheating. Information was quite extensive so for more information you should check out the PlayOnline website.

Included with the package is a new fold-out 'Quick Manual', which includes features such as a map of Vana'diel, a beginner's guide and more.
For those of you interested in getting into Square's popular MMORPG, this is the obvious package to go for, as it includes all you'll need to get started and become directly up-to-date.

Chocobo Breeding to feature in Final Fantasy 11 Fans are finally getting the chance to do something they've wanted to do for a long time in Final Fantasy 11, the ability to breed their own Chocobo's.
In the next version update for Final Fantasy 11 - Treasures of Aht Urhgan will include Chocobo breeding, which last made an appearance in Final Fantasy 7. Players wishing to breed their own Chocobo should be happy to know this isn't going to a quick thing. After a breeder acquires a Chocobo egg (which has yet to be explained), the egg can take from 1 to 3 months to hatch and will require daily attention for it to hatch. The developers have gone one step further and have even given each chocobo it's own unique DNA and each chocobo should be as unique as it's breeder/trainer.
Chocobo's will be kept in a Chocobo Stable and if you aren't able to attend the Chocobo everyday due to school or work, a yet to be announced fee can be used to pay a stable hand. Once the Chocobo reaches a certain age, you'll be able to mate it with a Chocobo of the opposite sex and within an age. Due to the uniqueness of each chocobo any baby chocobo which is successfully bread may end up bearing no similarity to it's parents.
It also doesn't stop there, developers are also working how to have contests with the Chocobos such as races and other events.
The update containing Chocobo's will be available sometime this month.
