A look at Final Fantasy XIII's Odin The Final Fantasy series is often known for its spectacular summon beasts, and FF13 is certainly living up to that mantra.
The following images are high-quality shots of the game's interpretation of Odin in action. Check him out!
Various scenes from the previous trailer are omitted, however the this trailer is a more fully realised representation of the game's cutscenes and storylines. The scene at the end with Lightning punching Snow repeatedly also appears to be new footage.
This trailer was originally featured in the release of Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete. It was then replayed on a couple of occasions with subtitles and extra footage at E3, as seen here.
Final Fantasy 13 will be released in the Spring of 2010 in North America, on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
E309: New Final Fantasy XIII trailer Prior to announcing Final Fantasy 14 this morning, Sony also premiered a trailer for something many, many of you are anticipating!
There's very little left to be said, really. The game is well and truly on its way to completion, and we'll be seeing more and more information as the year continues.
Square also confirmed today that they were unsure as to whether the game would include both the English and Japanese voice tracks. However, they say it is unlikely, as it would take up huge amounts of disc space, and they would like to use a minimal number of Xbox 360 discs when they turn their attention entirely to the port.
Final Fantasy 13 will be available in the Spring of 2010 in North America.
Firstly, he notes that a new Final Fantasy 13 video will be shown at this year's E3. Whether this will be a brand new trailer, or just an expanded version of earlier footage is uncertain at this point, but we're leaning towards the first of those options.
Still on the topic of Final Fantasy 13, Nomura mentioned that he is no longer working on the game on a development-basis - he has finished his primary work on designs, and now only needs to return for advertising and 'synchronization' (presumably with the rest of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series).
In regards to Final Fantasy Versus 13, this is Nomura's major project at the moment, and he says that the team are working hard at refining the final version of the battle system and the world map at the moment. He says that each city/town will have a day/night version, and that the world map is so large he can't remember exactly where the first location is.
He compares the world map to the classic Final Fantasy 7 map, and states that although the team developing the game was the exact team responsible for Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2, many of the members were responsible for Final Fantasy 7 and 8.
Lastly, he mentioned that Square will be making some significant revelations regarding PSone classics soon available on the PS Store.
We'll get back to you with any further developments!
Kitase talks Final Fantasy XIII Producer Yoshinori Kitase has been doing the interview rounds recently, in the wake of the new FF13 demo.
When asked whether we'd see an English demo anytime soon, Kitase replied that there would be no Blu-ray demo release outside of Japan, but that they were considering PSN/Xbox Live releases instead.
On the topic of release dates, and PAL territories in particular, Kitase says that they are planning to release the game to the PAL nations within a year of its Japanese release. He said they are stream-lining the localization process - some sections have already been translated, and English voice recording has already begun.
As a special treat for all of you who missed out on those FF13 videos from a week or two ago, it seems GameTrailers have made a little feature to coincide with its release. Enjoy:

Final Fantasy XIII demo screencaps For those of you who missed the demo footage before it was taken down, screencaps will hopefully fill some of the void!

New Final Fantasy XIII summon A few new Final Fantasy 13 scans have hit the net, this batch featuring what appears to be a new Summon.
Final Fantasy 13 is in production currently for PlayStation 3; once development has finished on this console work will start on an Xbox 360 port. The game will release this year in Japan, and in 2010 throughout the rest of the world.
Most notable is the fact that the demo will only feature a very small portion of the full game's actual story - it will feature an event known as 'The Purge'. It is also interesting to note that the demo, in its current state, is only using 50% of the PS3's maximum power. When the full version releases it should be utilising 100%.
Regarding the final game itself, Square is still uncertain as to whether they will have to use the exremely high-level capacity available to them on a dual-layer Blu-ray. The dual-layered variant, which holds a massive 50GB, will allow them to store much more data, but can cause various technical problems. Speaking of technology, the PlayStation 3's surprisingly small amount of RAM has led to the team encountering problems, however nothing has been confirmed regarding this.
In-game however, things are coming along rather well it seems. The battle system, however, is apparently "not as seamless as Final Fantasy 12", but for many traditional fans this will probably come as a godsend. Camera movement has been a strong focus of the team, to ensure that it is worthy of other titles on the market. Characters have been thoroughly developed; Lightning is apparently "not too masculine", Snow was originally going to be childish, but this was dropped to make him more like Wakka, and apparently Sazh will encounter a rather interesting twist later in the game regarding his "inner demons".
We'll get back to you with more Final Fantasy 13 news as it happens.
