Square plans to announce "three new titles" at E309
E3 2009 is already way off the richter scale - rumours up the wazoo, and Square's here to add fuel to the fire!

Amidst trailers for Sony's Project TRICO and teaser sites for a new Kojima Productions title, word is starting to spread regarding Square's secrets for this year's show. Scuttlebutt is, Square will be revealing not one, not two but THREE un-announced titles this year.

However, that's not the best part - two of these are supposedly sequels to their "bigger franchises".

What could these be? We here at FF Insider are putting our money on at least one new Final Fantasy spin-off, but besides that, who knows. Kingdom Hearts? Dragon Quest? Front Mission? Or maybe even... a new Chrono title!?

Check back with us here from June 2 onwards for E3 coverage!

Games of Square-Enix Party 2007
As always, Final Fantasy is the most important feature - SE's 2007 Party will be featuring a lot of it... and more.

Firstly, these are the confirmed titles that will be on show (FF-related):

  • Final Fantasy: Anniversary Edition (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings (DS)
  • Final Fantasy 11 (PS2/PC/X360)
  • Before Crisis: Final Fantasy 7 (mobile)
  • Final Fantasy Tactics: Shishi Sensou (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Ring of Fates (DS)
  • Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - The Crystal Bearers (Wii)
  • Final Fantasy 2: Anniversary Edition (PSP)
  • Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete (Blu-ray)

  • Final Fantasy Versus 13 (PS3)
  • Final Fantasy Agito 13 (movile)

Although this is already a huge amount, there's apparently more... the message that appears at the bottom of the page (in the second image) reports:

"The evolution will never stop, the series continues… and a Final Fantasy that nobody is aware of will enter the scene."

So a new Final Fantasy, of some sort, will be revealed here... seeing as many of the above listed games feature Nomura as character designer, and seeing as Nomura also says he has a 'surprise' for SE Party '07, expect him to be closely involved...

Square-Enix Party 2007 takes place on the 12th and 13th of May. Stay tuned for more info...

    Square-Enix Christmas Cards
Although not full size, images of the Japanese-only Square-Enix Christmas Cards were revealed at Jump Festa.

One is based on Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 for the PSP, with the other based on Advent Children Complete, the Blu-Ray version of Advent Children.

Hopefully bigger, higher resolution versions will be made available for those who would want to print them out and use them.

Final Fantasy 3 and 5 updates
Final Fantasy 3 has recently surprased 750,000 sales in Japan, while still holding a place in the Japanese top 10 of console software sales.

In other news, Japanese gaming site Famitsu has rated Final Fantasy 5 on the GBA. The game was given a 32 out of 40 rating, with it's 4 reviewers giving it 8, 8, 8, and 8 ratings.

Final Fantasy 3 is due out in the US on November 14th, with Final Fantasy 5 being released on November 6th in the US. A European release has not yet been announced for either at this point.
