Rabanastre

Equipment: Orrachea Armlet (Accessory)

As Vaan defeat 3 Dire Rats. You'll regain control at the city after some cut-scenes. Most of the shops are located at the East End, but there's also a Gambits shop at the North End. Now proceed to the red X mark to Migelo's place. Your next task will be to head over to the Sandsea Tavern, and fetch Kytes. Just go towards the red X on the map to get there.

You'll receive the CLAN PRIMER, an ORACCHEA ARMLET, and the WRIT OF TRANSIT from Tomaj. He'll also give lessons about the License system, should you ask him to elaborate on details a bit later. Once that's done, exit the tavern and proceed to the East Gate. Cut-scene. Save, then continue out to the desert and hunt yourself a Rogue Tomato.

Dalmasca Estersand

I recommend that you gain a few levels here, by defeating Wolves and Cactites The loot from the said enemies sell for a decent price, at the shops back in the city. There's also a dinosaur further north of the desert. DO NOT provoke it unless you have a death wish.

As for the Rogue Tomato, it will appear as a big red dot on the overhead map. You should find it on top of a cliff, not that far north from the starting point. Once it appears, attack it a few times and it will jump off the cliff. Chase it down and finish the job. You'll receive some GALBANA LILIES after the short cut-scene. You can either choose to go back to Rabanastre, or explore the desert some more.

Should you pick the latter, head to the nothwest end of the desert, to find a treasure barrel. Turn back a bit and continue north to reach an Outpost. There, check around the area for a couple of treasure barrels. Do examine the shiny objects on the ground for some gil. Make your way back to Rabanastre afterwards.

Rabanastre

Notice that some of the citizens have been locked out. So go look for Kytes in the crowd and talk to her. A series of cut-scenes and an FMV follow. Your next objective is to pay Dalan a visit over at Low Town. But before that, there are a few things that I recommend doing.

First up, head over to the Sandsea Tavern and claim your bounty from Tomaj. (300 gil, TELEPORT STONE, 2 POTIONS) He will also give you a tip about talking to someone at the North End. Do consider his advice. Head over to the said sector and talk to the "Conspicuous Bangaa". He will allow you to access the Clan Hall. Talk to everyone inside if you want, or you can go straight upstairs and speak with Montblanc, the moogle. You'll be a member of Clan Centurio now.

Only clan members can access the shop at Muthru Bazaar. And since you're one, go talk to the Provisioner there to look at his goods. Also, there's a moogle (Cartographers' Guild) selling maps at the Southern Plaza, so go take a look if you're interested. Next you might want to visit the magicks, as well as the technicks shops. Buy Ice, Fire and Cure from the former, and Libra from the latter. (For a total of 1100 gil.)

After doing all that, open the gate located at the center of the East End sector to get to Low Town. There, make your way south towards Dalan's Place. After the cut-scene, exit the house and head south to a large metal gate. It leads directly to the Southgate. Forward to Giza Plains.
