Final Fantasy XII Walkthrough - Sky Fortress Bahamut
There are NO save crystals in here! So the game data you had prior to coming
here was your final save. Cast both Haste and Protect on your party before
proceeding any further. Also, it is not a good idea to wander around, since
there's a big possibility that you'll find yourself engaging swarms of
Imperials. And they'll just keep coming too.
Anyway, from your arrival point, turn left into Bulkhead 3. In the next
area, take the first split going right (north) to reach the Catwalk.
Cut-scenes. Once you regain control, go along any of the paths leading to
the center circle. Once there, veer left past the zone line, and into the
Central Lift.
You should be safe now. So take the time to run around in circles to
restore MP, heal up, etc. When you're ready, operate the lift controls
nearby to get the elevator moving. Cut-scenes. Boss fight.
Boss: Judge Gabranth
HP: 70719
LP: 25
Weakness: N/A
Steal: Elixir, X-Potion, Hi-Potion
Again, the Sage Ring accessory is highly recommended for this battle. First
Cast Haste (Hastega recommended) and Protect (Protectga recommended) on
your party, then Dispel on Gabranth. Cast Blind on him as early as possible.
It may take a few tries before the status hits. But once it does, Gabranth
shouldn't be much of a challenge.
He'll cast Renew on himself when his HP drops to 50%. This will fully
restore his health. Whatever status you inflicted on him will disappear too.
So recast Blind immediately. Set your gambits to "Foe: nearest visible ->
Blind" for your convenience.
His defense greatly increases as his HP goes even lower. I suggest
increasing your healing gambits' threshold to HP < 70% or even 80%, to
survive his brutal sword combos, just in case they hit.
Again, run around in circles to regain MP, heal up, etc. Once ready, engage
the lift again to go further up. Cut-scenes. The last 3 boss battles of the
game follow. Take note that you won't have the opportunity to recover MP
in between the next 3 battles, so be sure to equip the Sage Ring accessory
if you have it.
Boss: Vayne Solidor
HP: 76755
LP: 0
Weakness: N/A
Steal: N/A
Larsa will assist you in this battle. He won't help much, but still it's
better than no help at all. Cast Haste (Hastega) and Protect (Protectga) on
your party. Then inflict Blind status on Vayne. You should be able to
easily defeat him once the status takes effect.
Boss: Vayne Novus & Sephiras
HP: 104210
LP: 0
Weakness: N/A
Steal: N/A
It's Gabranth's turn to aid you in this fight. As usual, cast Haste and
Protect, along with Bubble and Shell on your party. You may opt to take out
the 5 Sephiras first, to make things easier for yourself. Set your gambits
to automatically remove Immobilize with Esuna. Vayne's offensives consists
mainly of level 3 elemental magick spells, so having Shell on at all times
is a must.
Just hammer away at Vayne, or even cast spells such as Scathe, Scourge or
Flare. Make sure your HP stays above the halfway mark at all times.
Final Boss: The Undying
HP: 228299
LP: 0
Weakness: N/A
Steal: N/A
This is it. The final battle of the game. Recast the usual status enhance-
ments on your party if they have worn off. (Remember to cast Shell and
Bubble) You might want to consider using Bravery and Faith on your
characters as well. This battle will drain your MP real fast if you don't
have the proper equipments and augment abilities. (Equipment: Sage Ring.
Augments: Channelings, Martyr, Inquisitor, Warmage.) It is very important
that you keep your MP levels up, since it holds the key to winning this
fight.
If the Undying becomes immune to physical attacks, hit him with powerful
magicks like Flare, Scourge or Scathe. If it's the other way around stick
to using physical attacks. This boss uses "Piercing" level 3 black magicks
very often, so make sure you have Shell on at all times.
Better yet, set up your top 3 gambits to cast Haste, Protect and Shell
automatically, once the status wears off, or if Undying removes them with
Piercing Dispelga. (Ally: any -> Hastega / Protectga / Shellga) Once The
Undying's HP drops to 25%, he'll cast "Perfect Defense" on himself, making
him immune to both physical and magick attacks. There's nothing you can do
about this, other than to wait it out.
At this point I would suggest casting status enhancements on your
characters, so that the boss will focus on removing them with Dispelga,
rather than attack you. Once the barrier dissipates, continue your
offensives until you defeat him.
