Final Fantasy IV Status Effects

There are several Status Effects/Ailments in Final Fantasy IV. Some are beneficial while some are malicious. Read below to see a list of the good and the bad. Esuna can cure all of these ailments.


Negative Status Ailments
Petrify
Target slowly turns to stone. When turned to stone, character cannot move. Cure with Soft.

Toad
Target's attack and defense plummet. Cure with MaidKiss or Toad.

Silence
Target cannot use magic. Cure with EchoNote.

Posion
Target's HP slowly drains. Cure with Antidote.

Darkness
Target's physical attack accuracy decreases. Cure with Eyedrops.

Mini
Target's attack and defense plummet. Cure with Mallet or Mini.

Pig
Target cannot use magic. Cure with DietFood or Pig.

KO
Target died when HP reaches 0. Cure with Life1/2/3.

Paralyze
Taget is paralyzed and unable to move for a certain time. Cure with Unihorn.

Sleep
Target falls asleep and is immobile until awakened. Cure with Unihorn, Alarm, or physical attack.

Confuse
Target is confused and does random actions. Cure with physical attack.

Curse
Target's attack and defense is halved. Cure with Cross.

Stop
Target is stopped and immobile. Cures after some time.

Berserk
Can be good and bad. Control on target is lost and attack, speed and defense are increased.
 
Positive Status Ailments
Regen
Target's HP is slowly restored.

Reflect
Any magic cast on the target is automatically bounced to the other side. Can be both positive and negative.

Float
With Float cast, the target can avoid Earth attacks.

Haste
Target's speed in battle is increased.

Berserk
Can be good and bad. Control on target is lost and attack, speed and defense are increased.

Blink
Several images of the party member are shown. Increases Evasion.
