Final Fantasy 7 - Barret Wallace
 |
Name: Barret Wallace
Job: Leader of AVALANCHE
Age: 35
Weapon: Gun-arm
Height: 6 ft 5 in
Date of Birth: December 15th
Birthplace : Corel Village
Blood Type: O
For the majority of his life Barret lived in Coral, where he worked as a
coal miner with his best friend Dyne. Upon discovering Mako Energy in the
town, however, Shin-Ra entered and compelled the town to turn to Mako
Energy. Barret and Dyne were convinced to follow the plan, however when they
traveled to view the construction of the Mako Reactor, Coral was set ablaze
by Shin-Ra. As they attempted to escape Shin-Ra forces, Barret was wounded
in his right arm which he decided to replace with a gun. Barret moved to
Midgar where he created AVALANCHE, an small anti-Shin-Ra group. Tifa's 7th
Heaven became AVALANCHE's base of operations. Cloud would later join the
group and later Barret would assist Cloud in defeating Sephiroth and
protecting the Planet from destruction.
Barret: “I don't got any answers. I wanna be with Marlene... But I gotta
fight. 'Cause if I don't, the planet's gonna die... So I'm gonna keep
fightin'!”
Barret may be realized as the man who is obsessed with taking vengeance on
Shin-Ra for the loss of his wife many years prior to becoming the leader of
AVALANCHE. He acts as a brotherly figure to Tifa and is often times her
emotional support. Barret, like Tifa, is deeply devoted to protecting the
planet and shows strong compassion towards his teammates. He ultimately
comes off as loud and dirty-mouthed, (which he is! Nothing wrong with
that...) But is a sincere and loyal man to his comrades and to those he
loves.
“Vermin! You Shinra the ones that are the damn vermin. And that makes you
the KING Vermin!” - Barret [re President Shinra]
Official Biography (From the official guide book): Head of the underground resistance movement, AVALANCHE.
He's fighting the mega-conglomerate, Shinra, Inc. which has monopolized Mako
energy, building special reactors to suck it out of the planet. Barret
depends on brute strength and his "Gun-arm" to see him through. His wife
died in an accident several years ago, and he now lives with his daughter
Marlene. |
