Cait Sith is a cat that sits atop a stuffed moogle whom he controls
with a megaphone. Cait Sith encounters the party at the Gold Saucer, where
he gives Cloud a grim fortune. He insists he joins the party in order to see
the outcome of his predictions.
"But we're not entirely enemies. ...Something bothers me. I think it's your
way of life. You don't get paid. You don't get praised. Yet, you still risk
your lives and continue on your journey. Seeing that makes me... It just
makes me think about my life. I don't think I'd feel too good if things
ended the way they are now." - Cait Sith
Nothing can really be said about Cait Sith except that fact that he is a
literal puppet throughout the entire game. The actions of Cloud and
AVALANCHE allow him to realize what leads him to fight for what he does - or
in his case, what he doesn’t. His comrades really don’t know exactly how to
characterize him besides the fact that he is odd and untrustworthy in his
pursuits.
Spoiler [Highlight to read]
| When later returning to Golden Saucer to obtain the Keystone, Cait Sith
steals the item and gave it to the Shin-Ra Turks. When Cloud saw this, and
knew Cait Sith was a traitor to his group, and Cait Sith confessed to be
working with Shin-Ra. Yet, not only was he an employee to the Company, but
also one of it’s top leaders named Reeve. Cait Sith continued with Cloud’s
group by threatening Marlene’s safety. As Cait Sith continued along with
Cloud, he started to work against Shin-Ra’s will and helped save the planet
from Sephiroth. Reeve then became a traitor to the company and was removed
from his position at Shin-Ra Headquarters. Even after his removal from
office, Reeve still controlled Cait Sith to the end. |
Official Biography (From the official guide book): Cait Sith rides around on
the back of a huge stuffed Mog he magically brought to life. Megaphone in
hand, he's always shouting orders and creating dopey attacks. When his slot
machine attack works, the enemy camp looks like an overturned toy box. His
hobby is fortune-telling, but like his personality, it's pretty unreliable. |
