Final Fantasy 7 - Materia Caves



If you've bred either a Blue, Green, Black, or Gold Chocobo, you can reach special Materia caves scattered across the world that contain Materia that'll really make you dangerous. The caves themselves are pretty well-hidden, usually around or behind mountains, or just really far out into the ocean.

Materia Cave #1 - Knights of the Round (Summon)
This cave can ONLY be reached with a Gold Chocobo. It resides north east of the Chocobo Ranch, passed two long, small islands. This island has a little patch of forest area inside a ring of what could look like rocks or mountain.

Materia Cave #2 - Quadra Magic
You'll need a Blue Chocobo to reach this Materia Cave. Directly south east of the Chocobo Ranch, take your Blue Chocobo to an island that has half a piece of land covered in grass, and half covered in rock. You'll find the second Materia Cave on the upper part of the rock portion of the island.

Materia Cave #3 - HP <---> MP Materia
To reach this cave, you'll need either a Green or a Blue chocobo. North east of Mt.Corel/North Corel, you'll find a cave past the mountains, with a river passing into the mountains the cave is connected to. You can take your Green (Mountain) chocobo over the Mountains of Corel, or you can take your Blue (River) chocobo into the mountain area with the Materia Cave in it through the river.

Materia Cave #4 - Mimic Materia
To get to this cave, you'll need a Green Chocobo. A little south west of Rocket Town, within a range of mountains, you'll find the next Materia Cave. You may need to use your Highwind, land at Wutai, and take your Green Chocobo into the mountainous region through there.
