Final Fantasy VII Walkthrough – Icicle Village

You'll leave the same house you rested in before and when asked where to go Cloud will have a head grabbing fit and you'll see Sephiroth walking north, he'll tell Cloud to "Head North...past the snow fields..." go where up the path Sephiroth went and you'll see some weird stairs with a shell on top, get any items around the area then climb these.
Head over to Icicle village and explore the town. Stock up on items, go into the big house in the right ride of town, grab the map off the wall and head up the hill to the north side of town, talk to the man there and tell him you want to go down the hill, now Elena and some Shinra soldiers will enter the town, after a confrontation Elena will try to punch you because she believes Cloud was responsible for Tsengs death.
You can dodge this however by pressing left, when she misses Elena will roll down the hill, rather comically. The town will be placed under "martial law" but you can't fight the soldiers so leave them be. When you're ready go into the little house in the middle of town and there'll be a small boy in the back room with a snowboard, talk to him and he'll lend it to you. Head up the north path again and the man will let you pass.
Now you get to snowboard down the hill, if you've played in the Gold Saucer this should be a piece of cake, but if you haven't you may find balancing turning etc a little tricky (like me, I suck at this because I always turn too hard) but apart from that doing nice jumps and tricks make this a very enjoyable part of the game. I can't tell you directly how to get to the red mark because You'll land in a random place on the map, so try to locate yourself then head over to the red mark on the map.
Do try to make your away around the map because at different parts there are different items, for example, there is Materia at the steaming lake. Investigate all over the place and you'll see a landmark that you recognise on the map so you should get to the mark on the map on way or another. The man in the house will tell you how his companion died as they tried to conquer the cliff after you rest. Make your party and equip fire/ice resisting accessories along with Ice and Fire Materia.
As you climb stop on the ledges and make your body temperature over 25 degrees which will allow you to explore, in one of the caves you should find Alexander Summon Materia. After exploring you'll come across the topmost cave when you go in push a rock to reveal a path, go inside and follow it.
Eventually you'll get to a place where you need to fight four Icicles when you defeat them go back down and over the newly made bridge, save and go through to meet the boss.
Boss: Schizo
The left side of this monster is elementally ice based while the right is Fire. Don't use Shiva or Ifrit here because they attack both sides, so while you'll be hurting one side you'll be healing the other. Tackle one side at a time, but be prepared and heal before you defeat it, when the side explodes it will hurt your party. Also use M-Barrier because this one uses Quake 3. You get a dragon fang for winning.
Now leave and go to the top of the mountain and go to the crater.
