Final Fantasy VII Walkthrough – The final Battles

Items: None in this section

Boss: Jenova-Synthesis
Start with Haste-All Wall-All. Then use attacks that do damage to all enemies such as Knights of the Round, Bahamut Zero, Comet 2 and Ultima because this Jenova has three parts. Jenova will countdown to her Ultima attack, this is her most powerful attack and it does damage to everyone. Keep yourself defended and healed whilst constantly attacking her with Limit breaks, magic and attacks such as Deathblow. If your characters are strong enough regular attacks should do plenty damage, Cloud in particular should do 9999hp damage frequently.

Once you've defeated Jenova your party will go into the core of the Crater- where Sephiroth is. Now you'll get to choose whether to switch your party between one, two or three separate groups. Balance out your parties but make the first the strongest as this is the team which will face Sephiroth first. Try to find a balance between the group e.g have your three strongest in the first group, two strong characters in the second and one in the last. Now you'll get to fight Sephiroth to some great music.

Boss: Bizarro-Sephiroth
This form is made of five different part (who needs that many parts?!), these are The Head, Torso, Core, Left Magic and Right Magic. The weakest links in this chain are The Left and Right magic's and the Head due to their small amount of Hp, however they can be regenerated. The aim of this (rather difficult) game is to defeat the Torso, however, the core heals this. To stop the core healing and therefore bring down the torso, you have to remove the Magic parts.

Take them out first then the core (because the Core can't be hurt unless the Magics are gone) and then the torso. You'll have to start this rhythm again once the Magics are regenerated but just keep at it. Sephiroth uses loads of attacks that hurt everyone at the same time. "All-Restore", "All-Revive", and "All-Heal" combos are very useful so have them equipped on at least one person. Start with Wall and Haste (all-haste and all-Barrier materia combos needed!).

Knights of the Round, Omnislash and other powerful Limit breaks that do repeated damage are very useful here as they take lots of Hp in one move. If Cloud gets his Omnislash Limit Break in this battle it also does about the same as a Knights of the Round. Also when Sephiroth does his summon use All-Cure3 in waves or Megalixirs to get back on track. Heal alot and take your time, use all of your power to take care of him. Switch your teams a lot during this battle (if you chose to have more than one) because when you do all HP and Mp of that team will be restored.

When you beat this form you'll have to fight another.

Boss: Safer-Sephiroth
This one isn't easy either. Start off with the should-be-customary Haste-All Wall-All. Hit him with you're best stuff and don't hesitate to use Omnislash and other limit breaks.

Sephiroth uses a wide range of attacks:

Super Nova: Sephiroth's ultimate attack, damages all characters removing 4000-5000hp.
Flare: 6000hp+ to one person.
Shadow-Deen: Roughly 1400-1500hp on one character.
Pale Horse: Damages and Adds status ailments to one character, not huge damage like the others though.

Heal like crazy in this battle and once again take your time with things. Replenish Wall and Haste whenever they wear off and deal as much damage as possible, don't worry about Mp at this stage, just use a megalixir far into the battle to take care of that. Unleash all you can and you'll eventually bring him down. Ribbons are also useful here because he inflicts many status ailments on the party. Hang in there you're almost done.

Once you've taken care of these two you'll be left in a last battle with Cloud and Sephiroth going head-to-head. Sephiroth will look weak and will be sort of wobbling. At the start of this battle Cloud will be in automatic Limit-break. Use Omnislash and he's finished. Its nice to see a real one on one, it gives Cloud his revenge. Now sit back and watch the ending FMV (also wait until after the credits- there's a nice surprise).

Congratulations, you've now completed Final Fantasy VII.
