Final Fantasy VIII Walkthrough – Missile Base

Now you’ll be in control of Selphie, firstly step out of your car and save on the world map (using a tent may also be useful) now follow the path left towards Deling, when you see the city follow the alternate path heading north, you’ll see some buildings in the distance so just drive up to it. You’ll enter the base with no trouble.

When you get out of the car your team will be in Soldier uniforms, go into the base via the door close by.
Once inside choose to walk past the guard normally, he’ll stop you and say something about your upbringing then continue along the path and down the stairs where you can save at the save point. Now go down the stairs situated to the left of and under the ones you just walked down where you’ll see a draw point containing some Blind spells, talk to the guards and they’ll ask you to deliver a message the men in the missile launching rooms. Stock some full-life spells from the draw point on the left and give the message to the guard, who will give you yet another message to send back, so do as he asks and return to the men. After some deliberation they will ask you to go to the circuit room so go upstairs back to where you saw the first guard and he’ll let you inside.

There will be a draw point containing Blizzara spells, so once you’ve stocked from it go over to the control point. Hit Square repeatedly to smash it up when prompted. When you leave the room two guards will approach, bluff your way around them to continue peacefully, do not fight them as this will cause the self destruct mechanism to kick in and you’ll have just ten minuets to mess up the controls, fight the boss and get out. Now go to the launching room and the guard will question you about you business, blag again and he will ask you to help push the missiles into place, so use the Square button repeatedly again. Once this has done he will ask you to check the control panel just outside the room.

Set the error ratio to max and check the data uplink. Once you’ve done this quit and talk to the guard standing at the bottom of the nearest staircase, he will let you past. Once in the room the officer in charge will suss you out and you’ll need to fight them. I wouldn’t even class them as a boss, just draw some reflect spells from the big one and hit them with a few GF’s.

Search all the control panels to find the right one to stop the attack. To blow the base up go into the door to the north and examine the control panel in the top left hand corner, set a time to get out from 10-40 minuets. Don’t choose 10 minuets because you won’t have enough time, if you choose twenty minuets the short cut door will open on the right and you can escape, but you will be pushing it against the boss. If you’re going to choose more than 20 go with 40 because it takes quiet a bit longer get out of the base the long way due to random encounters. Once outside you’ll face a boss, which you have to defeat in the time limit.

Boss: BGH251F2, The Captain and two guards
8000Hp
The machine is weak against Lightening and Water so if you have any water spells draw use them and make the most out of Quezacotl. The guards are the same as before. You’ll start this fight just fighting the machine. Cast double on yourselves then protect and haste to end this battle within the time limit. Then use GF’s Quezacotl along with double casting Thudaga/ara and water. Heal when necessary.
Deal with the guards quickly using GF’s again, but this time use three at once to defeat them all in one blow.

Once this battle is over walk around then to the bottom right of the screen, the team will see there is no escape for them and the base will blow up.
