Final Fantasy IX Chocographs
Chocobo Menu: Chocobo · Chocographs
You can play a mini game of Chocobo when you go to "Chocobo's Forest", after
you finished The Hunter Festival in Disc 1. Chocobo's Forest is located to the
northeast of Earthdragon's Gate of Lindblum. Cross the river and you'll find a
round forest.

How to go to Chocobo's Aerial Garden
Fly on
your golden chocobo (with the ability to fly the sky) and search for the place
which chocograph fragments show. Use dead pepper where you see a shadow on the
land. Then you can go to chocobo's aerial garden. There are two hills on clouds.
Go to the hill behind, and check the little hill there. A moogle will come to
you and warn you not to check there. If you ignore his warning and keep
checking, you can fight against Ozma, the strongest enemy in Final Fantasy IX.
Chocobo Abilities
A few Chocographs provide hints
about locations where Choco can dig up a "Power Up." In this case, instead of
finding treasures, Choco will fall asleep and go to Chocobo's Dream World for a
moment.
Here, Fat Chocobo (god of all Chocobos) bestows upon Choco a new
ability, which in turn changes Choco's color. Each color indicates that Choco
has attained a new ability. The abilities are cumulative, so Choco will not lose
a previously gained ability just because he has turned a new color.
When
Choco is light blue, he has the REEF ability and can search the reefs
(light-blue areas of the ocean) just offshore. A red-colored Choco has the Mt.
ability and can run across mountains and ridges, which were previously
impassable. This also enables Choco to search the high ledges to the left and to
the right in the Chocobo's Forest area. However, you should only search up there
when it appears that there's nothing on the ground. A dark-blue-colored Choco
with the SEA ability can swim across any part of the ocean. Finally, a
gold-colored Choco with the SKY ability can lift off from or land in any forest
area; simply press the X button to do so. This enables a gold Choco to reach
islands and areas that not even an airship can access.
Let's go around all the beaches!
After you got all the 24
chocographs, 5 treasures from cracks, 4 treasures from bubbles and Ultima
Weapon, and you've been to Chocobo's aerial garden, go to Chocobo's paradise and
talk to fat chocobo by pushing the square button. (If you talk to him in
ordinary way (by pushing the circle button) he'll give you fat chocobo's card.)
He will tell you to go around all the beaches in the world. So let's go around
all the beaches. There are 8 beaches in the misty continent, 5 in the continent
on left bottom, 7 in the continent on right top, and 2 in the continent on left
top. Push X button on each beach. At the last beach you will have a message
saying "Now I'm at ease" or something like that. After this, if you push X
button on a beach, your HP & MP will be full, and abnormal statuses will be
healed. |
