Latest Custom Firmware: 5.50 Prometheus

This new CFW is compatible with PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 (TA88v2 or below) and allows you to run all the latest 6.20 games without any plug-ins.

Installation

• Install 5.50 GEN-D3. (The guide for this CFW is below.)
• Extract the file CFW 5.50 Prometheus.
• Copy the folder into PSP/GAME/ and run the installer.

Caution: This application could brick your PSP, so use it carefully!

Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D3 Installation Guide

Some of our games not working for you? It just means that you don’t have the latest CFW installed yet. The guide below will give you a step-by-step instruction on installing the latest 5.50 GEN-D3 CFW. Once you have this firmware installed, 95% – 99% of our games should work without any problem (except for the more troublesome ones such as Kingdom Hearts – BBS). Please follow the guide exactly as it is to prevent your PSP from bricking. This guide is found somewhere on the internet, so long live the internet! :D

WARNING! DO NOT INSTALL THIS ON PSP-2000 v3 and PSP-3000!

Before installing 5.50 GEN-D3:

1) Backup your saved games because some of them might get corrupted after this process. You can find your PSP’s save files in /PSP/SAVEDATA.
2) Make sure that:

Your PSP is a PSP-1000 (fat) or PSP-2000 (slim) v1 or v2. (will be explained below)
Your PSP has Custom Firmware 5.00 M33 already installed.

Are you ready? Then let’s get started updating our PSP!

1) First, you have to download the 5.50 GEN-D3 installer here.
2) Connect your PSP to your PC via USB mode.
3) Extract the 550.PBP file and the PSP folder to the root of your Memory Stick (not MP_ROOT).
4) Exit USB Mode.
5) Go to your Game Menu and run the 5.50 GEN-D3 Quick Updater
6) Highlight “Enter” then press X.

Note: At the next screen, You will see your PSP model at the top. If it says PSP-2000 TA-088v3 or PSP-3000 TA-090v2, then this installer will not work for you and you might brick your PSP if you continue.

7) You will see a list of options that might become useful to you at another time. For now, Highlight “Flash Install CFW 5.50 GEN-D3″ then press X.
8) Wait for installation to finish.
9) Press X to reboot your PSP.

And you’re done! You are now using CFW 5.50 GEN-D3! You can now play all those hot new PSP games that you weren’t able to play before!

Note: All your PSP system settings (nickname, network settings, theme settings, etc) will be reset after this update.
