Originally
conceived as a large scale transportation shuttle to be used in the
construction of a space station for human habitation. This construction
project is suspended after the first test shuttle rolled out due to
intensified combat.
Also, the construction of the tactical space station "Zeus"
had been nearly completed by the means of the 600 series shuttles among
others, leaving the larger scale 800 series production plan unadvanced.
As a result, only the first test shuttle currently exists.
As the Phantom/ Gaia environmental research craft based on the outdated
500 series shuttle is retired, the military obtains the first test
shuttle, renovates it by adding on a scan radar system etc. and puts it
into operation as a reconnaissance craft.
Its internal engine and fuel tank enables it to travel in and out of the
atmosphere without any supporting external engines or fuel tanks. It is
also capable of vertical lift-off and landing.
